Purpose of Microneedling
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that stimulates the body to create new collagen, elastin, and skin tissue, resulting in smoother, firmer skin.
Microneedling is performed to address various facial cosmetic concerns like wrinkles and fine lines, scars (including acne scars), large pores, stretch marks, and pigmentation, among other issues.
Dr. Stile and his team of expert providers regularly conduct microneedling treatments at Stile Aesthetics. Each treatment session gets carried out on an outpatient basis.
How Is Microneedling Done?
Microneedling involves using a handheld device called a Dermapen, an innovative tool that contains 12 microscopic needles on a disposable tip. It creates tiny controlled punctures to essentially break down the skin and stimulate new skin, collagen, and elastin production.
The skin microchannels created during microneedling also evenly distribute topical nutrients included in the treatment session. The process results in rejuvenated skin that boasts a smooth and refreshed appearance.
Dr. Stile also offers PRP (platelet-rich plasma) facials that can get combined with microneedling for enhanced results and to help restore lost volume naturally.
