Are you having trouble losing stubborn fat around your midsection? If so, rest assured you’re not alone. The natural process of aging, childbirth, and a few other factors may make it difficult to achieve the toned stomach you’ve been longing for.

Fortunately, there are two procedures that may help: liposuction and tummy tuck surgery. So how do they differ and can you receive them both simultaneously? Keep reading to find out so you can determine the ideal option for your unique body type and aesthetic goals.

Liposuction

Dr. Stile may suggest liposuction if you’d like to resolve fat bulges but have a relatively flat abdominal wall. During the surgery, he will make tiny incisions into hidden areas. This will allow him to suction the fatty tissue between your skin and abdominal wall.

Dr. Stile will also sculpt your fat so that you’re left with a sculpted, attractive tummy. He may also perform liposuction on your thighs, hips, buttocks, arms, and other problem areas.

Tummy Tuck

Also known as abdominoplasty surgery, a tummy tuck may be ideal if you’re facing loose skin and stretched abdominal wall muscles. Dr. Stile will make an incision at your bikini line, between your hip bones. This way he’ll be able to lift the skin and fat away from your abdominal wall.

In most cases, Dr. Stile will create a new belly button as well. If you’ve had a baby or lost a significant amount of weight, a tummy can help you achieve a flatter, more attractive midsection.

Can Liposuction and Tummy Tuck Be Combined?

Believe it or not, Dr. Stile may recommend you combine liposuction and tummy tuck. A tummy tuck can tighten your abdominal muscles and remove excess skin while liposuction can contour your body and leave you with more dramatic results.

In addition, receiving both of these surgeries at once can save you money and recovery time. If you wish to get your pre-baby body back, note that both of these procedures can also be paired with a breast lift in a mommy makeover surgery.
