Cosmetic breast lift surgery, also known as a mastopexy, is a surgical procedure designed to raise sagging breasts to their more youthful and appropriate anatomical position on the chest wall. Additionally, a breast lift performed by Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Frank L. Stile will enhance the aesthetic shape of the breasts while also raising the position of the nipples and reduce the areola’s (the darker pigmented skin around the nipple) size when necessary.
Factors such as pregnancy, nursing, change in weight (gain or loss), aging, and gravity can produce changes in the appearance of a woman’s breasts. As the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts often lose their shape and begin to sag. If, in addition to sagging, the breasts are small or have lost volume after pregnancy, breast implants can be inserted in conjunction with a breast lift. This can increase both the firmness and size of the breast.
There are a variety of different surgical techniques used for the reshaping and lifting of the female breasts. The procedure that will work best for you will be decided following your consultation with Dr. Stile at Stile Aesthetics in Las Vegas, NV. During this time, a careful physical exam of your breasts will also be performed to measure the precise degree of sagging.
Mastopexy surgery is performed under general anesthesia and is considered outpatient surgery. There will be many factors to discuss prior to the surgery, including where the incisions will be placed. There are three commonly practiced incision points made in lift surgery:
The incision is usually chosen based on how extensive the lift needs to be. This procedure will produce surgery scars, however, Dr. Stile will do everything possible to make the scars less visible or easily concealed. We will also provide information on how to best care for your surgical wounds that may show more attractive results.

*Individual Results May Vary
During the initial consultation and after a thorough exam, we will help determine if mastopexy is right for you. Ideal candidates for this operation are women who:
With breast lift surgery, the patient may see immediate results in the shape of her breasts, but the final result may be visible after the swelling from the surgery subsides. They’ll enjoy perkier, youthful-looking breasts and feel more confident in and out of clothing.
Patients will be urged to do light activities, such as slowly moving around the room, or spend a few minutes standing within the first 48-hours to stimulate blood circulation. There should be no heavy lifting or strenuous activity involving the chest whatsoever. Patients can restart their normal activities within 2 – 3 weeks, but exercise should not be attempted for 4-6 weeks.
✭ There is a myth that women who have breast lift surgery never have to wear a bra again. This is not true as women will want to wear a bra to keep the breasts in the right position. The breast skin will continue to age regardless of this surgical intervention, but it should never be as severe as it was before breast lift surgery.
