Pregnancy changes many areas of the body, and a mommy makeover will require careful planning and could be implemented in stages. Dr. Stile has 20 years of experience performing any combination of these surgeries on one surgery day. However, the special individual needs of patients wanting multiple long procedures may require more than one surgery date. The end result will be the same. 

Some of the mommy makeover procedures may include a combination of: 

  • Breast Augmentation

During a private detailed consultation, Dr. Stile will listen to the concerns each patient has regarding the changes her body has undergone. If she is a good candidate for any of these procedures, a personalized treatment plan will be created. Many women seeking these treatments and surgeries have:

  • Breasts that sag and droop from multiple pregnancies, breastfeeding, or weight loss. 
  • A tummy with loose skin, stretch marks, and bulges of fat that didn’t go away with after-pregnancy weight loss. 
  • Extra skin on the arms, buttocks, or thighs that didn’t bounce back after losing pregnancy weight. 
  • A less than desirable shape to their breasts or buttocks and need enhancement to fill in the lost volume after baby. 
  • Multiple areas of the body with visible, unattractive stretch marks. 

The best candidates for the mommy makeover are women whose weight loss has plateaued and who are finished having children. In rare instances, some of our patients have had babies following their makeover procedures. In these rare cases, revisions may be necessary.

Lifted, fuller breasts, flatter bellies, and nice curves are some of the typical results appreciated by our makeover patients. New moms also love the fact that once the extra skin has been reduced and tightened, their stretch marks are drastically reduced. Our skincare practice, SkinPros, can minimize the appearance of remaining stretch marks with nonsurgical treatments such as lasers, microneedling, and/or chemical peels.  

Incisions required for these procedures are strategically planned to make them as inconspicuous as possible. Post-operative scar care optimizes healing. The results of post-pregnancy surgery may be life-changing for many women.

These are outpatient procedures performed under general anesthesia. After surgery, patients recover and are sent home when stable. If you have a longer procedure time (greater than three hours), you will remain in our recovery unit for extended observation until you are able to be safely discharged home. This is usually two to six hours. This is to ensure patient safety. We take great pride in providing our mommy makeover patients with the best in recovery care and pain management available after their procedure.  

Patients are up and around immediately and can do most light activities after seven days.  In most cases, patients resume work that doesn’t require lifting and their normal daily activities two weeks after surgery.  

While the complete recovery time does take several months, patients are able to return to a normal routine, including exercise, in about four to six weeks. Patients should wait for clearance from Dr. Stile to resume strenuous exercise.
