What is Latisse®?

Latisse® is a prescription eyelash growth treatment designed to increase the length, thickness, and darkness of your natural lashes. Unlike mascaras or extensions, Latisse works at the follicle level to stimulate real lash growth. With consistent use, patients experience noticeable improvement over time.
Latisse® is ideal for individuals with sparse, short, or thinning eyelashes due to genetics, aging, or environmental factors. Because it enhances your own lashes, results look subtle, refined, and authentic.

How Does Latisse® Work?

Latisse® contains an active ingredient that extends the natural growth phase of eyelashes, allowing them to grow longer, thicker, and darker. Most patients begin seeing visible improvements within 4–8 weeks, with optimal results developing around 12–16 weeks of daily use.

By working with your natural lash cycle, Latisse® creates results that appear effortless and organic. Continued use is recommended to maintain lash enhancement.

What to Expect During Treatment

Before starting Latisse®, you’ll have a personalized consultation at Stile Aesthetics with Dr. Stile or a qualified member of our team. During this visit, we will review your medical history to ensure Latisse® is appropriate, provide clear instructions on safe and effective application, and answer any questions regarding results and expectations.

Latisse® is applied nightly to the upper lash line using a sterile applicator. Only a small amount is needed to achieve effective results.

Latisse® FAQs

How long do Latisse® results last once treatment is stopped?

If you discontinue Latisse®, your eyelashes will gradually return to their natural growth pattern over several weeks to months. Continued use is necessary to maintain results.

Can I wear makeup while using Latisse®?

Yes. You may continue wearing eye makeup while using Latisse®. It’s recommended to apply Latisse® at night after removing makeup and cleansing the skin.

Is Latisse® safe to use with contact lenses?

Latisse® can be used by contact lens wearers. Contact lenses should be removed prior to application and may be reinserted at least 15 minutes afterward.

Will Latisse® affect eyelash curl or direction?

Latisse® primarily enhances lash length, thickness, and darkness. In some cases, longer lashes may appear more curled, but the product does not permanently alter lash direction.

Can Latisse® be used on lower lashes or eyebrows?

Latisse® is FDA-approved for use on the upper eyelash line only. Use on lower lashes or eyebrows should only be done if specifically directed by a qualified provider.

Is Latisse® suitable for men?

Yes. Latisse® is appropriate for both men and women who want fuller, more defined eyelashes.

What happens if I miss a dose?

If you miss an application, simply resume your regular nightly routine the following day. Do not apply extra product to make up for a missed dose.

Can I use Latisse® if I’ve had eyelash extensions in the past?

Yes. Many patients choose Latisse® after discontinuing extensions to help restore and strengthen their natural lashes. Your provider can advise on the best timing to begin treatment.

Is Latisse® covered by insurance?

Because Latisse® is considered a cosmetic treatment, it is not typically covered by insurance. Pricing and purchase options will be reviewed during your consultation.

How do I know if Latisse® is right for me?

The best way to determine if Latisse® is appropriate for you is through a consultation at Stile Aesthetics. Your provider will assess your goals, medical history, and eye health to recommend the safest and most effective treatment plan.
