Treatment performed: Breast Reconstruction

Description

Before and After Breast Reconstruction. The 39-year-old patient had breast enlargement at another practice and presented with a complaint of "uni-boob"/symmastia breast deformity and palpable implants. Her previous augmentation was accomplished by the placement of sub-glandular saline implants. The boundaries of her normal cleavage were obliterated by the aggressive creation of her sub-glandular implant pocket. She desired the removal of her saline implants, correction of the symmastia, and reaugmentation with silicone gel implants. She wore approximately a C-cup bra in most bra styles. She desired to be a full D cup size. She had a quick recovery and has returned to all her normal activities. Photos are three months post-operative. Bilateral saline implants were removed. Bilateral capsulotomy/capsulectomy was performed. Reconstruction of normal cleavage/correction of symmastia by placement of internal permanent stitches. Implant pocket converted to dual plane pocket (partial submuscular). 450cc Mentor smooth round, High Profile Plus, cohesive gel silicone implants were placed. and replaced with 400cc Mentor smooth round, Moderate Profile Plus, silicone gel implants.
