How Long Do Dermal Fillers Last?
The most popular type of dermal filler uses hyaluronic acid, a molecule already found in the skin. These fillers last from six months to a year, with a few formulas lasting up to eighteen months. Other types of fillers can last two years or more. Stile Aesthetics offers several of the most popular dermal filler materials to give you more options.
What Types of Dermal Fillers are Available?
Dermal fillers use materials that have little to no risk of causing an adverse reaction in the body. We offer the following types of fillers:
Restylane®
This family of dermal fillers uses hyaluronic acid, a molecule that draws moisture into the skin. Different formulations can be used in the lips, cheeks, lines and wrinkles, and other areas.
Juvederm®
This dermal filler family also uses hyaluronic acid in a variety of formulations. These can improve the appearance of facial features and deep wrinkles such as nasolabial folds.
Radiesse®
This dermal filler uses calcium hydroxyapatite, a material found in bones and teeth. It comes in microspheres suspended in a soft gel, suitable for deep lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth.
Sculptra®
Unlike other fillers, this one uses a collagen stimulator called poly-L-lactic acid. It does not add immediate volume, but it triggers collagen development. Over time, the increased collagen will provide natural fullness and volume.
Where Can Dermal Fillers Be Used?
Dermal fillers work in many parts of the face. The most popular areas include:
- Cheeks
- Lips
- Nasolabial folds (creases between the nose and mouth)
- Lines around the mouth
- Other lines and wrinkles
Dermal fillers work well with many other treatments, including other injectables like Botox®.
