How Long is Recovery from Liposuction?
Dr. Stile performs his procedures at the private, state-of-the-art Premium Surgical Services Center, the only double-certified accredited surgical center in Nevada specifically designed and built by Dr. Stile for cosmetic surgery patients. Your recovery begins more smoothly due to the hands-on attention and world-class patient care provided by the Center’s staff. Liposuction is typically performed as an outpatient procedure, and we ensure you’re truly ready to go home before discharging you to the care of a loved one. Dr. Stile will provide detailed aftercare instructions, so you’re well-informed before your procedure of what to expect.
Liposuction Recovery Timeline
Days 1-3 are typically the most uncomfortable. You’ll have a support garment to wear over your treatment area which will help with post-op swelling and discomfort as well as preserve Dr. Stile’s careful body sculpting. This is the time when rest is the most important. Moving around can help with blood circulation, but be sure not to overdo it.
In the first 2 weeks, you’ll begin to feel more like yourself. Pain is significantly diminished, and many patients return to work during this time. You can expect to be restricted to light activity until your healing is further along. By the end of your second week, you’ll be almost back to normal—you can begin to exercise as tolerated.
After 1 month, you’ll likely be cleared for moderate to full exercise as tolerated. Pain will be largely resolved by this point. Most of the swelling will have subsided by now, but there may still be some residual puffiness that will settle over the next few months. Your new shape is well on its way to being the fulfilling body sculpting you hoped to achieve.
After 6 weeks, you’ll be cleared to resume strenuous exercise. You may also find yourself feeling more energetic, with more pep in your step due to increased self-confidence. Your clothing will fit better, and you’ll look as good on the outside as you feel on the inside. Dr. Stile’s past patients report an improved state of mind whose ripple effects made for overall better quality of life.
